Key Assets provides a range of trainings available to help organizations build their capacity.

At Key Assets we are committed to raising the bar on quality care and service delivery to children and families across Canada.  Utilizing the expertise that we have developed both locally and internationally we are excited to offer customized training programs for governments and community service providers to meet their unique needs.

PersonBrain Training

 PersonBrain Model

At Key Assets we strive to provide clinical supports and interventions that allow our staff and caregivers to be thoughtful and intentional while putting theory into practice.  The PersonBrain Model™ is a powerful, trauma informed care model/training that is strengths-based and provides essential positive behavior support skills within a NeuroTransactional Model. The NeuroTransactional care approach is grounded in research and incorporates the best of practical brain-based concepts, trauma-informed theories, relational practices, ecological psychology and culturally responsive interventions to help transform challenging behaviors.

The first group of Key Assets staff and carers who attended Dr. Baker’s PersonBrain training in 2017 were inspired and excited by the ease with which the theory was explained and left them feeling confident to apply their learnings into practice. The concept of reimbursements explained in the model applies not only to children and youth but to every human being and informs the experiences and interactions needed for an individual to flourish.

At Key Assets we are invested in the PersonBrain Model™ and through utilizing a combination of powerful therapeutic techniques to address reimbursement deficits we have been successful in addressing  even the most challenging behaviours in children and youth.  Our staff and carers are excited that through integrating PersonBrain concepts into our care and safety planning that we are creating success, hope and repairing the impact of trauma.

Virtual Reality Training

VR program provides a unique experience with 360-degree immersive films and virtual reality headsets.

Key Assets partnered with Cornerstone a UK based organization who are pioneers in the use of virtual reality as a tool for behaviour change in social care. They have created the world’s first VR tool for use in adoption and fostering and have now branched out to utilize the technology in prevention, mental health and policing.  This VR program uses 360-degree immersive films and virtual reality headsets, enabling the viewer to experience life from the perspective of a child. Its unique approach offers a way to understand the impact of attachment and trauma, through the eyes of a child.
