Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Action.

Similar to our purpose we are on a path to make a positive and long-lasting difference in fostering an anti-racism workplace.  As a start we have:

Expanded our training, learning and development of staff and foster parents

  • Delivered interactive “Table Talks.” Hairstory youth amplifiers, Key Assets staff and foster parents, shared their experience of racism in Canada and systemic racism in child welfare
  • Anti-racism training with consultant diversity and inclusion experts

Adopted the Global Diversity & Inclusion Benchmarks as a way to measure and ensure we are in fact achieving change

  • Established an Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Committee
  • Review and updated key policies to ensure they were inclusive and equitable
  • Annual allocation of resources and funds to support our growth
  • Contracted diversity and inclusion experts for guidance

Committed to increased diversity amongst our staff

  • Changed the process of recruitment from positing to interviewing
  • Conducted a survey of staff on Key Assets inclusion, diversity and equity in the workplace
  • Developed a sub-committee to address survey feedback
