Key Assets Ontario is currently recruiting in Mississauga, ON for the position of:
Clinical Therapist
(Permanent Part-time Position)
The clinical therapist works collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team with caregivers, service providers and other practitioners towards improving outcomes for children, youth, and foster families. The therapist utilizes a broad range of theoretical frameworks to address complex practice situations and provides trauma-informed, therapeutic support to foster families involved with Key Assets Ontario.
This position provides intervention in situations where the application of professional analysis is essential and where independent judgment in determining appropriate strategies and developing, implementing, and analyzing support plans is required.
Core duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Consults with the management team and other staff members to develop, design, and implement new programs.
• Utilizes a broad range of theoretical frameworks to address complex practice situations and provides trauma-informed, therapeutic support to foster families involved with Key Assets Ontario.
• Develops and delivers training and education programs to support foster carers, staff and the care team.
• Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of the support, interventions, and progress.
• Prepares case notes and reports.
• Conducts research, provides analysis, and utilizes theoretical frameworks to address needs.
• Other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:
• A Masters’ Degree in Social Work, or Clinical and/or Counselling Psychology.
• A minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience and practice.
• Registered and in good standing with the designated professional regulatory body in Ontario.
• Knowledge of and experience in foster care, working and supporting foster carers.
• Training and experience working in specialized areas including, but not limited to, child development, mental health, grief, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• A valid G Class license with a clear driving record and daily access to a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2-million liability insurance.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Screening and Child Welfare Screening.
• Valid Proof of Canadian Residency.
Some evenings and weekend availability may be required in the performance of duties.
