Catherine has dedicated most of her career to working in child welfare across various roles. She began as an intake worker and later spent 12 years as a resources and adoption worker for a local Children’s Aid Society in Ontario. Prior to relocating to Ontario, Catherine worked at a young offenders facility and as a one-to-one worker for Child and Family Services of Prince Edward Island. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology, a Child and Youth Worker diploma, and a Bachelor of Social Work. Her professional journey is enriched by her lived experience as a previous foster parent, adoptive parent, and kin parent. She is passionate about lifelong learning and actively engages in training opportunities while also sharing her knowledge by training others. Catherine serves as a certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trainer for the agency and provide ongoing online training in collaboration with one of the Key Assets Managers and the Government of Nunavut. Catherine’s commitment extends to supporting individuals and families on their journey of exploring fostering as a potential fit, guiding them through the approval process with care and expertise.
